Northwestern University is a private non-sectarian educational institution in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. NWU is committed to provide a learning environment geared toward excellence and thus, prepare students to be world class citizens. An ISO Certified University. Northwestern university is a nine hectare lot. Northwestern University is the only private school in Ilocos Norte that is a PACUCOA and an ISO certified because not all Universities are an ISO Certified. They teach different courses and have eight colleges these are College of Business Education (COBE), College of Allied Health and Sciences (CAHS), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Maritime Education (COME), College of Engineering and Architecture Technology (CEAT), College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), College of Teacher Education (CTE), College of Law. Northwestern University helps students to become highly competent and socially responsible in their studies because we believe that Education is important to us. They offer scholarship for the unfortunate students who can’t afford the tuition fee. Students here in northwestern University are very talented, if you want your talent to be shared you can join the group named SAGUDAY and here you can have a discount which is 50%. Here you can find it as your home because there’s a lot of programs for students that they may enjoy and here you don’t have to be rich but knows how to socialize with people and study very hard for the future. Northwestern university have Student Services like Supreme Student Council the university recognizes according to democratic procedures, the Supreme Student Council as the only legitimate representative of the student body to the administration, to the academe and to the non-academe of Northwestern University. The REVIEW, a student publication is published by the student body and as such, should meet the needs and interest of the whole studentry. It encourages creativeness in writing and serves as a training ground and laboratory for future journalist. It is also a means of strengthening ethical values and developing moral character and personal discipline among students. Campus Organizations Students have the right to form organizations in the campus, under the law, and according to the objectives and regulations of Northwestern University and to seek recognition for such organizations. Cultural Affairs, the Cultural Affairs Office provides training ground for students who excel in the field of arts and culture and avail of tuition fee discounts during the period of membership. Admissions, admissions Office through the Records Office is responsible for pre-admission advising, processing of application for admissions, admitting eligible applicants and registering students in class, establishing and maintaining academic records of students. The office also facilitates the processing of applications for withdrawal and/or transfer credentials and other
student records.

The maroon symbolizes their utmost dedication, sincerity and passion to make the school a premier educational institution anchored on academic freedom - a legacy that continues to be preserved through the years. The golden yellow color speaks of the quality of education that Northwestern offers to everyone who would want to grow in spirit and wisdom. The book stands for knowledge.

As a student of Northwestern University I can say that I’m satisfied and contented in this school because here I felt it is my second home. I’m in second year but I’m proud to say I’m an NORTHWESTERNIAN. The professors here are friendly and they teaches you nicely that you can understand the lesson. They even encourage you to study hard. They even offer you counseling in the guidance office if you want an advice and lend them your problems, they help you to become a better person and a better citizen in the future. Their services is nice but sometimes you have to wait for your turn especially in the finance or registrar because of the long line and hot place also in the canteen. But they say patience is a virtue and I totally agree.
